Managed by a multi-disciplinary Property and Construction Consultancy - this 28 No. bay ‘modular building’ provides a twelve classroom facility at a school in Bedford. This two storey prefabricated building has a gross floor area of 936 sq. metres and incorporates 12 No. classrooms (each providing circa 56 sq. metres of teaching space), 1 No. passenger lift, 1 No. disabled WC, 10 No. pupil WC’s, 1 No. office/store, 2 No. cleaners stores and a large staircase/circulation area. Heating is provided throughout by way of a building regulation compliant ceiling mounted air conditioning system. A BB93 compliant suspended ceiling system is provided throughout at 2.40m above f.f.l. c/w flush/integrated lighting. Externally, the walls are finished in a combination of Rockpanel cladding panels and a traditional brickwork skin enhanced by a large expanse of curtain walling to the principal entrance front. The back-to-back mono-pitch roof is covered with a hard wearing “Firestone” blanket and falls towards the white uPVC guttering and rainwater goods which in turn, match the double glazed white uPVC windows. The bespoke fascia detail was designed to compliment the existing/adjacent buildings on the site. This modular building provides a clean and spacious environment enabling the pupils to be educated in luxurious surroundings. The school are extremely happy with the finished product...
